​ Since the curriculum 2013 was implemented, the teacher in SDN Pasar Lama 1 made use of varied instructional methods and strategies to assure that they followed the mandate stated in the curriculum and by the education department that they should promote a learner - centered classroom rather than teacher- centered instruction. Thus, they provide different learning experiences such as, group collaboration activities, performance task, and problem-solving activities that will cater the needs and interest of the students. However, teachers still using traditional method of instruction but with the aid of models and instructional medias.

On the other hand, the school also provide facilities that can help the students in their learning progress such as the library, where students can borrow books and work for their assignments and projects. They also has computer laboratory where students learned the basics on how to use and manipulate the computer as well as use it for some research works.​
